Today I had the pleasure of visiting Chichen Itza, Mexico.

Woke up at 7am when my friends started prepping for our day together.

Had breakfast (free cereal, fruit, eggs) until 7:30.

Packed my bags in case I chose to leave for Merida after visiting Chichen Itza.

Checked out of the hostel and returned my keys.

Walked with my friends to the bus.

Hopped on a bus for $1.75 for an hour drive to Chichen Itza.

Checked out the ruins of Chichen Itza. It was pretty incredible.

Walked around, bought a bottle of water, since my canteen was empty and I ate an ice cream sandwich. I was surprised they had refrigerators at Chichen Itza since it’s pretty far out there. They also have an ATM on site and the ability to accept credit cards.

Discovered that there’s an inexpensive bus to Merida. It costs $4.50 for a 2 hour drive to Merida.

Bought a ticket and said goodbye to my new friends. They are great guys, but I need to keep moving on my trip. We will possibly meet again in Tulum after I visit Merida.

Hopped on the Oriente bus to Merida.
